What is the difference between a debit card and a credit card?
When you pay by debit card, the money is taken instantly and directly from your checking or savings account. When you pay by credit card, your credit card bank or other financial institution pays the bill and sends you a monthly bill for your charges. Using a debit card can help you avoid getting into debt and incurring finance charges, because you pay as you go. Some stores charge a small fee when you use a debit card. Return to Questions
