What is a margin call?
A margin call is what happens when you buy a stocks on margin and its value falls below the maintenance margin level. If the value of the securities falls so low that it no longer provide sufficient collateral for the margin loan you used to finance your purchase, you must either deposit additional funds with your broker or sell the stock and repay the loan.Return to Questions
